Q: Where is Getaway Te Anau located?
A: Getaway Te Anau is situated in the beautiful town of Te Anau. Conveniently located across the road from the Lake and only a 2-minute walk from restaurants and supermarkets.

Q: How far is Getaway Te Anau from Queenstown & Milford Sound?
A: We are a 2 hour drive from Queenstown and a 2.5 hour drive to Milford Sound.

Q: We want to visit Milford Sound, but there are so many options. Which is the best?
A: We are Fiordland experts, this is our home. Make use of our extensive knowledge on the area and let our team help you with planning your activities in Fiordland.
Q: Is there a bus stop nearby?
A: Most local bus companies can pick you up from us here at Getaway Te Anau. Otherwise, the bus station is a 5-minute walk from us on Miro Street.
Q: Is there a Supermarket or Restaurants nearby?
A: There are 2 supermarkets and plenty of restaurants in the town center. All of these facilities are within short walking distance from the property.

Q: Do you offer free WIFI?
A: Free WIFI is available to all guests during their stay. 500MB per device per 24 hours is allocated and you are able to access this from your room or site.
Fiber is currently being installed here in Te Anau and as soon as this is available, we will have unlimited WIFI for our guests.
Q: What facilities do you have at Getaway Te Anau?
A: We have a large range of facilities on site for our guests. You can check out all we have to offer here
Q: Do you have laundry available for guest use?
A: We do! We have 2 separate laundry rooms with washers and dryers. Both washers and dryers take $4 per cycle. (2x $2 coins) Notes can be exchanged for gold coins at reception. Detergent is also included in the wash price
Q: How can we use the Hot Tubs and Sauna?
A: Our Hot Tubs and Sauna are available for hire in one hour private sessions and bookings are essential. There is a charge of $30 for two people for an hour session, extra persons are $10 each. The sauna is free of charge and towels and drinking water are provided.

Q: Do you have facilities for children?
A: We know that if the kids are happy, then so are mum and dad! We have plenty to occupy children of all ages. Check them all out here
Q: What type of rooms do you have at Getaway Te Anau?
A: We pride ourselves in having options to suit all needs and budgets.
Our 2- and 3-bedroom Apartments are the ultimate luxury and have all the comforts of home.
Motel and Self Contained units have kitchens and bathrooms in them also for those wanting to be able to cook dinner in their units.
Plan on heading out for dinner? No worries, try our Matai or Park ensuite units.
Cabins are a great option if you are travelling on a budget- they use shared bathroom facilities but still have breakfast facilities.

Q: Do you offer breakfast?
A: We do not supply breakfast but Te Anau township has an abundance of restaurants and is only a short 2-minute walk away.
Q: Is there multi day parking available for when we are away doing a Great Walk?
A: Unfortunately, we do not have space to offer overnight parking but Te Anau does have a secure car park called Safer Parking. Visit for details. Getaway Te Anau’s friendly reception staff can also take payment and issue keys for guests wanting to use Safer Parking.

Q: What time can I check in?
A: We will do our best to have rooms ready by 2pm. However, as we pride ourselves in offering 5-star cleanliness there may be some instances where your room is not ready by 2pm due to extra cleaning of your room being required. We ask for your understanding in these instances. We have a great team of housekeepers who take pride in their work.
Q: Can I check in early?
A: Early check ins are subject to availability and won’t be confirmed until day of arrival. Please contact Getaway Te Anau should you require an early check in.
Q: Can I check out later than 10am?
A: Late check outs are subject to availability and will be accommodated wherever possible. Unauthorized late check outs may result in additional charges. Should you require a late check out, please contact reception staff.
Q: What time is reception open?
A: Summer (September - May) 7.45am - 8.30pm
Winter (June – August) 8.00am – 7.30pm
If you anticipate arriving outside reception hours, please contact reception on email@example.com, or let us know during the time of booking. You will be given instructions on our late arrival procedure.

Q: Is Getaway Te Anau pet friendly?
A: Getaway Te Anau has a no pet policy, the only exceptions are legitimate service animals.
Q: Can I change or cancel my booking?
A: Your booking cancellation or modification policies will vary depending on if you have booked direct with us or on a 3rd party website.
